Tha Photo Thing

Starting off with a only a little Kodak 1mega-pixel 8MB camera; this hoby of mine has grown somewhat out of hand. These days due to breakages/ theft and old age my three older camera's have been retired and replaced by newer and more expensive models..

After using the KonicaMinolta Xt I was hooked on the brand and for good reason. Click the camera to view official site.

Our first is the Konica Minolta - DiMAGE A200. It is the top of the range amateur digital camera with 8MPixel, 7x Optical zoom & controls for everything including aperture, shutter speed, tone, white balance, and much more. For a full review have a look at these sites.

The second is a Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xg. It is a compact 3.2MPixel camera with a 3x optical zoom. And as of today (31/8/05) I now own a waterproof case for the camera too. Reviews can be found here.

Maybe when I have saved up some money I might be able to buy myself a real digital SLR camera.... Maybe...

As I get more pictures I will post them at the top of the list. Photograph sizes range from 640x480 to 1600x1200 pixels.

A nice coral bommy I swam passed seen from a overhead view.

I have corrected the colour of the image.

I assume this is some kind of coral re-growth project. It looked very funny from the surface so I dove down and had a look.

I have corrected the colour and cropped the image.

This was a distant shot, there was 3-5 meters of water between the star-fish and I. Plus if I remove too much blue the star-fish looks green.

I have tried to clean up the colour, then cropped  and resized the image.

In extremely shallow water this reef fish was hiding in a hole.

I have cleaned up the colour and cropped the image.

This was an interesting part of a much larger photo. I found under water it was easier to have a high resolution photo with space around the edges and clean the photo up digitally. Only 1 in two shots were worth keeping due to viability, movement, colour, etc.

This was colour corrected and cropped

I duck dived down to get this photo of the reef from a different angle. When a fish touched my back I freaked out thinking it was something more dangerous and hurried back to the boat.

The colour was manipulated to look more natural.

I took 8 shots of the water with the hotel in the background. This is the only one that worked out and looks quite good.

The image was rotated and cropped and shrunk.

This was the first photo from the camera using the new water proof casing while under-water

I have cleaned up the colour and cropped the image.

This is a picture of the water proof casing that looks pretty good.

This was a shot that I attempted once while walking past the trees. It ended up turning out reasonably well.

There was the gas torch with two outdoor lights on the tree trunks. It gives an interesting look against the night sky.

Bren - 1024x768 - 30th April '05 - Tanoa Int. Hotel, Fiji - A200

An interesting shot of the fountain running into the center pool at Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.

I took a few shots to get the reflection and the normal image to both be in focus and look interesting. But it ended up my first shot looked the best.

Well this shot was at a beach somewhere in the coral coast and I just thought to take the picture of the lovely, cute Fijian flower on the beach.

I love the KONICA camera, it is so cool.

Rose - 640x480 - 16 Jan '05 - Coral Coast, Fiji - A200

This is the first picture i took with the new camera and to be honest it turn out to be a good shot. Not bad for a first timer.

Rose - 640x480 - 9 Jan '05 - Pac Harbor, Fiji - A200

We were at the beach one day and I liked the look of the pebbles against the background of Bega Island. Thank goodness for the swivel screen or else I would have been on my belly trying to take the photo. Was the best of 4 shots.

Brendon - 640x480 - 9 Jan '05 - Pac Harbor, Fiji - A200

This was one of the first shots I ever took with my camera, Band new on Christmas day. Just walking around Damien's house.

I just like the look of the shot.

I was at the Clariti - Beach Wear Christmas Party. This is a time for staff to meet the prime contacts for Clariti's major customers.

Salanieta and Puneetma were in a photographic mood. This was taken on my old Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xt.

Brendon - 640x480 - 11 Dec '04 - Suva, Fiji - DiMAGE Xt

Rose was hungry and stressed that we were walking around Sydney without knowing where we were. (Bad combination!)

I saw this shot and was able to keep her still for about 4 min while I got the angle and positioning right. I think it is an amazing shot. This was not modified in any way.
